National Suicide Prevention Month & VetCV Vault Features Updates – September 2024

National Suicide Prevention Month

September is Suicide Prevention Month, a time for us to reflect, raise awareness, and learn how we can provide support for those who may be struggling in silence. All month long, mental health advocates, prevention organizations, survivors, community members, and families unite to promote suicide prevention awareness. As friends and family members of veterans—as well as veterans ourselves—we are all too familiar with this issue. Right now is a great time to familiarize yourself with the resources available when you or someone close to you are struggling, such as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (9-8-8). Check out our Crisis Support page in the Resource Library to see more resources and support organizations that can help.

September 11th, – Patriot Day 2024

Today, we pause to remember the tragic events of September 11, 2001. We honor the lives lost, the bravery of first responders, and the resilience of our nation in the face of adversity. As we reflect on this day, let us hold close the values of unity, compassion, and service that emerged in the aftermath. May we never forget the sacrifices made and continue to support one another with the strength that defines us.

Respectfully,

TeamVetCV

Start Your Career in Cyber Security

Breaking into Cyber Security

Generally speaking, many consider the cyber security career path to have high barrier to entry for job seekers. Due to the nature of the field, often there are a limited number of entry-level positions, while many cyber security firms need experienced candidates for mid-to-senior level roles. Having identified this problem, TeamVetCV has partnered with Argo Cyber Systems as part of our initiative to support Veterans exploring careers in tech and break down these roadblocks.

VetCV’s Latest Partnership Helps Veterans Get Their Start in the Lucrative Cyber Security Industry.

VetCV’s newest Top Patriot Employer Partner, ARGO Cyber Systems is a cyber security firm and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). They understand that Veterans are trained to be trainable, and have shown a willingness to provide Veterans opportunities in the notoriously competitive field of cyber security.

Tawndy Schultz tells her story of transitioning from Active Duty to the civilian workforce and how she started her career in cyber security with Argo.
